Riyada Talk is a public talk show organized by The Public Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (Riyada) which is the Sultanate of Oman's arm for the development of small and medium enterprises and the strengthening of their contribution to the local economy through a wide range of business advisory services and training programs.
Riyada Talk is the first show of its kind in Oman in terms of implementation as it introduces alternative approaches to link Omani entrepreneurs with investors and financiers. The show was launched for the first time in 2018 as a part of the Omani SME Expo "Ebdaat Omania" which is held yearly in November at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Riyada talk, which is broadcasted live via Oman Live TV and social media platforms "Youtube", aims at building business relations between Omani entrepreneurs, business owners (investors) and financial support providers by giving the entrepreneurs an opportunity to present their existing projects or ideas that are economically viable and applicable to the business owners (investors) and financial support entities so they can directly evaluate the offers and support them through one of the means of support (grant, loan or partnership).
The show "Riyada Talk" consists of two parts:
– The first part is the inspirational stories: a group of leading business entrepreneurs present their success stories in entrepreneurship.
– The second part is a competition where the representatives of the organizations willing to finance or invest will evaluate the offers submitted by entrepreneurs and choose the projects they wish to cooperate with through a grant or loan or partnership.
