Creating, empowering and supporting innovative, technological and socially conscious startups in Bahrain and the region in order to solve social challenges facing Bahrain and the wider region, while simultaneously contributing to job creation and economic development.

Technology allows social entrepreneurship to create smart citizens and businesses to solve local and regional challenges. Hacking the citizen experience is a design problem requiring thinking about processes and interactions.

The competition will explore social venture ideas that will solve social issues based on the following United Nations Sustainable Development Goals:
* 4: Quality Education
* 9: Industry, innovation, and infrastructure
* 11: Sustainable cities and communities
* 13: Climate Action
The competition will be open to individuals, groups and organizations from Bahrain and the wider MENA region, and possibly globally. The participants must submit ideas that will address the above mentioned SDGs.

SHAPING SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURS is by the Manama Hub of the Global Shapers Community, in partnership with Tamkeen.
