Mr. Ashish Shah is a member of the International Trade Centre's (ITC) Senior Management. He has been working for over 30 years in the field of development and at ITC for 19 years. He currently serves as Director, Division of Country Programmes. His career at ITC has cut across different areas including in the Office for Africa, as Chief of the Office for Arab States and in the Office of the Executive Director, where he was leading Strategic planning, Monitoring and Evaluation. Prior to joining ITC, he worked first at the International Labour Office and then in the Office of the Special Coordinator for LDCs, LLDCs and SIDs at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in Geneva. Mr. Shah has more than 25 years of international and United Nations experience in the field of trade promotion and development. He has been leading the development and implementation of trade-related projects in all five geographic regions where it operates and spearheading ITC's resource mobilization efforts with key donors. Mr. Shah, an Indian national, holds a Bachelor's Degree in Economics, a Master's degree in Cooperative Economics and a PhD in Economics. He is fluent in several languages.
