Al-Mutajaredah Sulieman Moosa Al-Mandhari
Mutajaredah was so surprised when the award committee announced her name as the first winner of the "Sanad Award for Individual Initiatives for the Best Idea for the year 2007", which took place in Grand Hayat Hotel in Muscat the capital of Oman on 29th May 2007. This moment was extremely exciting and motivational to her career and encouraged her to think of initiating her own business of a cafe Book. The award was a milestone in her career especially within a timeline of completing a year in the role Marketing Research in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. A role that empowered her interpersonal skills and enhanced her knowledge in the understanding of Oman's economy, the business industry and ability to forecast potential growth in this area. Although she was not able to start her Cafe Book business due to the governance constraints at that stage, but she still eager to engage into personal entrepreneurship world.
Beginning of 2007 was the start of intensive promoting the culture of entrepreneurship in the Sultanate of Oman and to refresh the DNA in Omani blood as they had been historically well known in their passion toward trading and entrepreneurship experience, which continues to be passed passion through generation. In the past, they export and import merchandise with many countries such as India and subcontinent and china. This history along with the challenges for job seekers to find work, the government steer was to refresh the strategy and enable it to support more startups and entrepreneurs to grow and to develop in the market. This direction of change towards enhancing the entrepreneurship culture, allowed Mutajaredah to be the first Omani women who joined the Directorate General for the Development of Small and Medium Enterprises in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in 2007. This was later transferred and announced by a Royal Decree in 2013 as an independent entity that supports the Small and Medium Enterprises in Oman now called the Public Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development "Riyada".
Ms. ALMandhari has been appointed as a Director of Mentorship and Training in May 27, 2015 till date. Her role responsibilities include setting the strategy for the Training & Mentorship Program for SMEs in Oman, designing and implementing Training, Mentorship Program to achieve Riyada objectives of promoting an entrepreneurship culture and contributing to building successful Omani SMEs. The delivery of this strategic scope of work is with support, collaboration and partnership with profit and nonprofit organization inside and outside Oman. For example, she still is working with an international company in Oman as a strategic partner "Oman Shell Company" in launching the second version of Shell Intilaaqah Programme in 2016, which aimed to train startup. In addition, her department continuously works on receiving a tremendous support from leading Oil and Gas Company in Oman like Petroleum Development Oman to deliver significant initiatives that aimed to create a sustainable SME's business that can flourish globally. Above that all, she worked with a regional partner like ArabNet in enhancing Omani SME's participation in the Muscat Startup Battle Championship so they can later participated in the reginal competition in Dubai. Furthermore, Riyada hosted an international competition the 11th MITEF Arab Startup Competition Regional Finals in Oman and she was honored to work with MITEF team and to work with the Prince's Trust, UK nonprofit organization in creating a comprehensive framework to build the capacity of Omani entrepreneurs enrolled in the Mentorship Program and having the recognition to meet HRH Prince Charles as the Team Leader of the Prince's Trust Group "Oman Mentorship Program" at Al Bustan Palace Hotel in Oman on November 6th, 2016.
Mutajaredah obtained her bachelor's degree in Marketing from Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), Oman and she completed more than 12 years of experience in a specialized and competitive area that deals with providing technical support to SME's which will always have a huge impact to the country economy.
