Michelle is a member of the International Business, Strategy and Innovation group. The main focus of her research relates to how entrepreneurs and those in small firm settings make sense of their experiences, particularly in the context of "the digital age". Her recent work explores how entrepreneurs create and share meaning aided by social technologies. She recently received a best paper award at the British Academy of Management (2017) for a study of entrepreneurial failure blogs. Her work has been published in Technological Forecasting and Social Change, Information technology and People and Information Systems Frontiers.
